Happy Monday Everyone! I’d like to welcome any new readers from Steady Mom. I have a new guest post up over at Jaime’s site called Using Your Children’s Hobbies as Learning Opportunities. I enjoy the practical and steady advice from the Steady Mom community. If you haven’t subscribed to Infinite Learners yet, you can do so via RSS or get email updates. One of our personal goals as a family is to integrate our work and family life.
Right now Stone works independently as a stone mason and I am in the midst of creating and launching my birth preparation course and writing a companion book.
We do a lot of tag teaming which, most of the time feels empowering. There are, however, times when work needs to be done in the midst of family. I help out with the business/office work end of Stone’s business and sometimes it works that the kids are sleeping. Or watching a movie. Or taking an extra long bubble bath with extra tub toys.
Or sometimes they are crawling all over me at the desk.
Or taking terrific two tantrums.
Or leaning in for an impromptu kiss.
Or insisting on a photo-shoot.
This work session got so out of hand I had to take pictures and just laugh at the ludicrousy of us attempting to support ourselves financially amidst the chaos of our home and family.
There are good days. There are rough days.
And then there are the days when you just have to give in to the madness.
(And now writing this post– it all seems so adorable, fun and exactly what I always wanted my life and work to be like.)
