I’ve been receiving updates from Jaime over at SteadyMom and have been inspired by her over all vibe. It’s a simple look into her beautiful family, but what I’ve really enjoyed is assimilating a steady-does-it mentality.
It’s easy for me to have a great few weeks where I am on top of my game, and then crash (my home, children and personal projects then quickly follow suit). Erin has reminded me of how valuable it is to keep things efficient and simple. I’m noticing that the more steady I flow the better my overall well-being and the quality of life for my entire family.
Sometimes I’m following my path and what I envisioned as an end result doesn’t always end up being what I want. It’s a great time to stop, check-in and reevaluate what I want with an honest and compassionate attitude towards myself. I’m at such a checkpoint right now and it feels good. I’ve noticed that my focus has been scattered and as a result I’m exhausted at the end of the day. I’m thankful for having the insight to stop and take note of where I am and to allow myself to change and be flexible so that my vision and quality of life stays current with myself, my family, and my local and global community. So my question of the moment:
How can I live more efficiently?
Practicing efficiency makes life easier. Living, working, or playing efficiently uses less resources and produces more results. It allows for energy, ideas and inspiration to remain steady over time because you conserve your resources with the bigger picture in mind. You feed two birds with one hand instead of using two hands to do three things.
Stone is an excellent example of using efficiency in his craft. When he does a project he does it from beginning to end. He works hard with a singular focus and he does not compromise quality.

(choosing rocks from the seconds pile to beautify and balance our front yard)
He doesn’t move stones more than he needs to and relies heavily on careful preparations before doing the heavy work. Measure twice and move the stone once. He will spend an entire day leveling and getting the grade just so, making the installation of the actual stonework faster and easier. He exercises his mind and intuition more, giving his body a break from unneeded wear and tear. I am very impressed by his ways and I want to consciously implement more efficient ways into my own work.
So without further ado-my method for attaining greater efficiently and living my life Rock Steady (because I’m here for the long haul!).
What do you think? What is your prescription for staying efficient and rock steady in this fast paced and sometimes crazy world?

ugg good question. this has been on my mind for weeks (months? maybe even years!). organizing and simplifying is a huge one but it’s also an overwhelming one. and the more i try the more i realize my health (physical and mental) are pivotal. but fitting all the pieces together is exhausting and chaotic at times. and often when i start to find a groove a wrench appears in the gears and screws me all up again. lol

Hmm…for staying efficient I need lists. And, I need to prioritize. Declutter. Not everything needs to get done when I think it should. I also need lots of rest to stay strong and keep my mind clear and open to finding new solutions to problems.
Rest, self-care and a general game plan seems to help me the most. I like to work when inspired…which means I have to do the things that nurture me most in order to feel that inspiration and have the energy to act upon it when called. Very thought-provoking post. Thanks. I was in need of a little reflection.
