This is so sweet. And a lesson in patience for myself. My kids alway spick those first blossoms which tugs at my little spring-has-sprung heart strings. You dealt with this so beautifully. Thank you for sharing!

The very same thing has happened to me so many times over picked flowers~ I always have to remind myself that my little boys don't know how to discriminate what flowers mama *thinks* it's okay to pick and which are not! They just know mamas likes flowers!

Little 2 year old Roan and I often go in our yard and greet all the new flowers that have come up. Two days ago he picked a little bouquet for me...and I did feel disappointed, but managed to can it this time! Thank you for the reminders on why I should can it all the time!

What a beautiful post! Brought tears to my eyes. Did you show him you took a photo and wrote about it so that you could always remember his gift? I think he might like that.

I love this. I have so been there, watching my child pick a flower that hadn't bloomed or a berry that hadn't ripened. It makes my heart sink, but it's also very sweet in its way. Thank you so much for the reminder to be grateful, and the lovely photo.
