I have a lovely friend named Gretel. I would drive to Timbuktu to spend time with her in her lovely home, but luckily she lives right around the corner so I can walk. Every time I go to Gretel’s house it is completely transformed. She has this knack for redecorating without spending a dime. It’s her art-form and she definitely has it perfected. Gretel threw J.Stone an impromptu surprise birthday party at her house a week or so back.

When I clean my house I tend to just throw things in baskets and on shelves, but I’ve been watching Gretel and noticing how she places and rearranges her family’s belongings to fit the mood or the stage of her ‘lil ones with great attention. Her home is her art and I love how it integrates so seamlessly.

I also appreciate how she approaches her decor with a green flair. Anything new is usually second hand and she loves to use freecycle when passing something along. I’m going to start taking my camera over to her house when I visit so I can share Gretel’s art with you and keep myself inspired.

Solshine and Koala love going to her house. There is a magical feel and treasures in every nook. It’s a relief to visit because they are so busy exploring her house I can just relax and enjoy some grown-up time.

I have a friend like that too; always so creative and her home is so comfortable. I’m still working on that. ;) So lucky she is within walking distance!!
