While I was offline last week I started writing morning pages a la Julia Cameron and her most inspiring book The Artists Way.
As you know I’ve been working on my mornings, which have been, in the past, a difficult time for me to enjoy. I’ve been setting the intention of finding more beauty in the early hours and staying mindful of the ways that help me ease into my day. So far so good!
Morning pages is a welcome addition to my life. I’m not sure about other bloggers out there but I pretty much have a rambling dialogue going on in my head all day. I’ve found that when I start my day with writing three pages of long-hand (without judgement or editing) it gets a lot of the rambling garble out and I’m free to move into my day with a clear mind.
Anyone else out there doing morning pages?

I have never heard of this before, but I checked out the website and am very intrigued…going to read more about it.
I know y’all do them but I’ve never tried… maybe I’ll give it a go one of these days! I’d love to clear out mental clutter.

I wrote morning pages for years, then stopped when my son was born, and just the past few months have been doing them again. I find they are a great help to my sanity and general happiness. Plus I really enjoy taking that 1/2 hour or so (sometimes even uninterrupted!) to myself in the morning.
