Welcome to the First Annual Infinite Learners’ Holiday Give-Away Celebration! It’s my hope to bring a little cheer to your doorstep and help you connect with businesses that provide quality hand-crafted goods this holiday season.

Give a rowdy welcome to our first guest noon: jewelry & paper goods. Maie is a personal friend of mine. We used to hang out back when Solshine was a baby, spreading craftiness all across my living room floor and exploring the little funky shops and antiques of Newburyport. She’s since moved back to the West Coast where she has made good on her dream of opening her own shop with her best friend, Nora.

I am so happy to collaborate with these super fresh and talented women.

noon is a collection of hand fabricated jewelry and paper goods. the designers nora farrell and maie liis webb have joined together to create a unique design studio and storefront located in the heart of ocean beach, california.

nora farrell : (jewelry designer) originally from rhode island was trained as an industrial designer at the rhode island school of design. after several years in the jewelry industry she launched her own line, focusing on creating individual pieces whose ispiration is drawn from the natural world.

maie liis webb : (graphic designer) originally from the jersey shore graduated from RISD with a BFA in graphic design. she moved to san diego in 2003 with a passion for creating paper goods, specifically letterpress wedding and special occasion invitations. her attention to detail and drive to create handmade objects led her to the thriving wedding scene in san diego.

In their own words…

Nora (who heads up the jewels) and I (who does the paper end of things) met as college roommates at the Rhode Island School of Design. Nora is a trained Industrial designer and I have my BFA in graphic design. We knew we wanted to combine forces somehow…whether it be in a store form or not. We had talked about it for like 10 years and we finally were on the same coast at the same time and opened our doors in Ocean Beach this past February. It has been a wonderful venture joining our studio and storefront for a definitely unique and we believe inspiring atmosphere. Our styles both being simple yet playful with an emphasis on color and natural materials sets our shop apart. Our foundation is providing quality design with strong craftsmanship to keep our line of both jewelry and paper goods fresh and timeless at the same time. We love color! That’s definitely something we don’t shy away from.

The shop is an experience in itself. We use a lot of handmade elements mixed with antiques and organic materials. People say they have never experienced anything like it before. We wanted to create an atmosphere where people again are inspired but all your senses are triggered. Whether its the origami wall or the fresh cut flowers mixed with custom invites printed on watercolor paper.
We have an amazing clientel with lots of “regulars”. I think it’s that they can find quality jewels, etc at an accessible price. We can customize anything and customer service is are top priority.

Noon was gracious enough to offer up a pair of silver and turquoise earrings for one lucky reader. All you need to do is check out their shop and leave a comment here. The winner will be chosen at random Thursday at noon! The earrings will be mailed to you free of any shipping charges.

Please consider supporting Nora and Maie this holiday season (and beyond).
