We’re down for the count. We’ve got the whole shebang: chills, aches, fever, cough, headache, stuffiness and loss of appetite.
I’ve been feeling like a train ran over me since Saturday and Koala came down with a fever last night. Stone and Solshine might have already had it this past Spring which might be why they haven’t come down with it yet, or maybe it’s still to come.
We’re stocked up on miso soup, sprouted bread for toast, Emergenc-C, lemon-ginger-echinacea juice and I just finished the last of our homemade chicken soup.
I’ve been bookmarking a few links that I’ve felt have added a rational viewpoint and reasonable advice amidst the chaos of the media frenzy. A perfect 30 minute post for a tired and sick mama with a hot, sleeping baby on her lap.
Dr. Jay Gordon’s sensical approach
Down to earth thoughts from a biologist and herbalist.
3 Alternative Ways to Fight the Flu
This post is part of the 30 minute blog challenge.
(For the record, we don’t know for sure if we have H1N1, but given the hype and the symptoms I’m just assuming. They are not even testing for it in NY anyways.)

Bummer! I’ve missed you, but you have a good excuse not to be at skating tomorrow! I should bring you a jar of my elderberry syrup and leave it by the door… Get well soon!!!
Feel better soon! And thank you for these links. We’ve been healthy so far but I teach preschool… where our motto is: if your hands are bleeding, you aren’t washing them enough… I am sure we will be hit soon enough.

Emily, that’s funny about the hand washing.
Miranda, I would be more than happy to take a jar because we just finished out bottle and I was just reading how people on elderberry get better quicker.
….sending healing thoughts your way, my friend…

Hope you all feel better soon! We’ve been through it too over the last week. At least the kids are done anyway. Now the adults have to finish with it. :) I feel kinda good to not have to worry about it anymore anyway.
ps, yes elderberry and oregacillin were my doc’s two recommendations. :)
PHOOEY! Get better soon mama! hugs to you!
