We were among the delighted to find the season’s first strawberries waiting for us this past weekend at market. It has been a long time since we’ve had fresh fruit for our local region.
If you go to market on Saturday you will hear the steady drum beat of the Dragon Boat Club making it’s way up and down the lake. We’ve heard it many times and seen it from a distance, but never before had we seen it dock at market.
Oh and those strawberries? Now you see them,
Now you don’t.
It was worth the wait.

Those were good strawberries! Ours lasted all of five minutes!
What region are you in? I just bought 3 large trays of late season strawberries for making jam. We’re in Northern California. I’ve been waiting for mid-June to get them! So, we’ve had strawberries, cherries and blueberries for a while. Blackberries just came out but will be sweeter in a few more weeks!
happy strawberry eating!
Yum! We just got good fruits at our market too. Don’t know why it took so long, seeing as how “local” for S. Nevada means SoCal. I was too happy to find fruits and berries yesterday.

Deborah we are in central New York. Stone’s sister lives in NorCal and we are so jealous of their local fruits ;-)
What a lovely blog! I am so enjoying your photographic skills, it makes it so much more fun to see as well as read. Inspires me to dust off my camera, too. I read your “about us” and really felt an affinity for your journey and philosophy, it is a most worth documentory. I love the idea.
Namaste…
