I have been having a wonderfully busy last few weeks. It’s partly due to regular family living and the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, but partly due to local activism in my community. We are busy motivating to push major midwifery legislation in our state and we are also working to keep big gas companies from drilling in our communities.
(By the by, if you’re interested in becoming aware of the national gas issues and their claims to be green over the realities of what the drilling does to communities, environments and watersheds–www.shaleshock.org is a good place to start. Those ads being placed by gas companies on billboards and in the NY Times claiming natural gas to be the green solution is very misleading and in my opinion and perfect example of “greenwashing”.)
I have one more give-away for my crafty type friends. I am going to try and get it posted by tonight, but we are leaving to visit family out-of-state tomorrow and have a big day of packing and travel in front of us. I’m also tabling at our co-op and taking pictures of mamas and babies this afternoon as part of a social media project I’m working on for the midwifery legislation. If you don’t hear back from me tonight, wish us safe travels and I’ll post the give-away when I’m settled into relatives on Saturday.
