It’s been 21 Days since the beginning of our Experiment. I thought there would be more of an “AHA!” at the end, but truthfully, the biggest changes happened in the first week. Now life just seems normal with the new and improved flow. In fact it’s almost hard to remember what life was like before the new routine. It worked!
I’m feeling very grounded and clear about my intentions and where I’d like to see myself in the future and the path to get where I’m going seems much easier to identify. I’m also feeling better about day-to-day family living. Having regular time to myself has allowed me to be more present when I’m spending time with the kids. I can keep the computer off and focus on cooking, dance parties, field trips and such.
One thing I didn’t change (which I wanted to) was stepping up my yoga practice. I wanted to make it to two classes a week and do my own sessions before bed. I started off alright, but it didn’t stick. Birthnet meetings were changed to the same night as my favorite yoga class, but I think I’ve found a new class. It was recommended to me by a fellow doula and is said to be very empowered woman centered–so we’ll see. I want to start this Monday and hopefully in 21 days I won’t be able to remember what life was like before a regular yoga routine.
Something that really clicked for us was house projects. We’ve owned this house for two years and lived here for one and a half. We’ve done a lot including rehabbing the bathroom, putting down bamboo floors, painting with clay paints and such, but the list is still long. However, in past three weeks the list went from being an overwhelming, “I don’t know where to start”, to a “Look at us! We’re really doing it” sort of feeling. I have some pics of Stone laying the hardscape in our front yard with a community effort from our neighbors and I’ll post pics in the next few days. It feels like it’s just going to keep rolling. Stone finished a big project he’d been working on (restoring the original stonework at a private residence) and he’s decided to take the next week to work for himself. We invited his parents down to visit, and also to help with projects and childcare so we can start checking projects off the list.
I want to thank everyone so much for following along and giving us your support. It helps to have people rooting for us and it feels good to share knowledge, experience and inspiration. You’re the best!
I want to share a little loveliness from our Weekend.
Peace Out.
(Oh, and a little heads up: I’m planning on switching the theme and design of our blog so if you visit and things are a little wacky please know it’s temporary while I test out some of my new skills. Thanks!)

congratulations! i hope things fall into place for your yoga as well.
Oh I love your new header! Is this still “thesis”? I really like it.
So many things are clicking over here as well. And many aren’t. Ahh, the joys of having a laid back husband. lol

Yes, this new one is thesis. I’ve been playing with it and right now it’s simple, but I really like it. I had to learn a lot to figure it out…but that’s a good thing! ;-)
Tara, I’m so glad to hear things are ‘clicking’ and cheers to laid back husbands! lol.
